CASCADE, Wis. — The Fall Sporting Clays Tournament may not have exactly lived up to its name (“Summer Sporting Clays” would’ve been more appropriate given the clear skies and very warm conditions) but that didn’t stop it from living up to its expectations as one of WTBA’s most fun filled events.
More than 150 shooters participated in Thursday’s outing at the Highlands Sportsmen’s Club in Cascade.
There were some high scores to match the high heat, with Ethan Hubert of Aring Equipment Company winning 1st place amongst the men with a perfect score of 50.
Hannah Dathan, a guest of Interstate Tree Land Clearing Company, took first place for the women with an impressive 33 of 50.
The best team score was filled with names familiar to Weekly Update readers following sporting clays tournaments.
Dick Palecek, Jamie Vanderveldt, Brad Stehno, and Brian Balongue nailed 179 of 200 possible clays.
Mix in a lot of laughter, some great live music from High Country, and a lot of dogs that loved the extra pats and attention and it was a recipe for a memorable afternoon.

Thanks to all the sponsors and everyone who participated. We look forward to seeing you again next spring!
