Scholarships

“Going home over winter break I was counting the hours of how much do I need to work in order to pay for next semester.  I was like, ‘Oh, I got this amazing scholarship’ and so I just wanted to say thank you.  It means a lot.” – Alexis Fleegel (MSOE), 2025 Scholarship Winner

You’re on the road to a bright future.  Let us help you reach your destination.

Every year, WTBA awards two different types of scholarships to deserving college students studying in transportation construction industry fields.  Winners receive their scholarships during WTBA’s Contractor-Engineer Conference in January.

Why do we do it?  WTBA recognizes how much time, effort, and money students eyeing a career in transportation construction commit toward earning their degrees and beginning their careers.  Scholarships are both a celebration of that hard work and a helping hand to reach ultimate goals.

WTBA’s Engineering Scholarships are worth $5,000 each.  Engineering Technician scholarships are worth $3,000 each.

Details on both types and how to apply are below.

What you’ll need to apply

  • One-page cover letter detailing your interest in transportation construction and why you’re deserving of a WTBA scholarship (PDF or Word Doc)
  • Two (2) professional letters of recommendation (PDF or Word Doc)
  • Official copy of latest school transcript (PDF or JPG)
