An impressive crop of students surpassing last year’s number of applications made the WTBA of Tomorrow’s decision making especially challenging.
The council ultimately decided to surpass its prize offering from last year, too, awarding four students a total of $18,000 in WTBA scholarships.
Alexis Fleegel (Milwaukee School of Engineering), Erin Jaeger (UW-Madison), and Canyon Richardson (UW-Stout) each won $5,000 Engineering scholarships.
Kolbe Solberg (Mid-State Technical College) received the $3,000 Engineering Tech scholarship.
The WTBA of Tomorrow members reviewed each application individually over several weeks, then gathered to debate Monday.
Some of the proceeds from the auction held during the WTBA Annual Convention each February help pay for the scholarship program while also supporting a robust assortment of other Transportation Education Fund (TEF) initiatives.
Fleegel, Jaeger, Richardson, and Solberg will receive their checks during the Contractor-Engineer Conference awards banquet Jan. 16, 2025 in Wisconsin Dells.
Congratulations to all four winners and thank you to everyone who applied!
