One of the WTBA’s most well known and long-serving members will likely get the chance to continue to serve the industry he loves on a national level.

James Peterson Sons, Inc. chairman Jim Peterson is one of 28 people nominated to serve on the American Road and Transportation Builders Association’s Board of Directors for 2025-28.

Jim is a two-time past WTBA Board President and has given countless hours of his time to promoting the best interests of the transportation building industry, attending fundraisers, lawmaker office visits, site tours, and conventions.  He was also named to ARTBA’s Transportation Development Hall of Fame in 2020.

“Jim is a great mentor to people just starting out in the industry and truly gets the big picture of what we do,” WTBA Director of Policy and Finance Kevin Traas said. “He is just as enthusiastic now as he was 35 years ago when I first met him.”

ARTBA Board nomination votes are open now through Friday, Sept. 12.

An email with a personalized voting link came from ARTBA on Thursday afternoon. The new Board will be finalized during ARTBA’s National Convention in Dallas in late September.
