Contractors bidding on WisDOT-let projects will need to fully switch over to the browser-based BidX process starting with the April 14 let.
WisDOT has worked with Infotech to make this transition, which eliminates the need for separate software and the AASHTOWare Project Bids system.
Companies need to complete two important steps through their BidX account ahead of time:
- Ensure you have a valid Digital ID. Existing Digital ID holders will be prompted to import their Infotech Digital ID into their browser.
- Obtain and save your new Security Key. The first time you open a proposal in the new BidX experience, a security key is created. This key serves as a crucial backup to your Digital ID.
In an effort to make the change as seamless as possible, Infotech produced several help sheets, including a contractor FAQ page and an online guide that walks you through how to submit a bid in the new system.
The new platform includes familiar but more efficient forms, a new “check bid” feature to help spot errors, the ability to assign specific items to vendors directly, and a streamlined bid bond verification.
