Canada’s wildfires and a North American heat dome may have interrupted another group’s day, but Mother Nature couldn’t stop WTBA members from crafting their own memories out of the summer’s biggest event.
In fact, Deep Purple put it pretty well in their appropriately named “Smoke on the Water”…

There were unforgettable drives, putts, and chips as 216 golfers hit Trappers Turn on Thursday afternoon for the annual WTBA Golf Outing.
The Michels/Fabick Cat team of Ryan Ramthun, Zach Dittberner, Tyler Sternat, and Todd Stanley smoked the competition with a -17 to win the overall best score.
Ross Squires, Thor Wick, Theo Taylor, and Paul Minneti huffed and puffed their way to a second-place -14.
Winning teams snagged Visa gift cards, but there was no shortage of good humor to go with the sweltering heat and humidity.

The Reynolds Equipment 50/50 raffle raised $600 for the WTBA of Tomorrow Scholarship Program, Wingra Stone’s Lucas Weichel’s incredible long drive abilities raised $1,020 for scholarships, and Zach Dittberner (as if he didn’t win enough already!) took home a golf and cooler set from the Fabick Cat putting contest.
There were plenty of hole prizes, games, and on-course beverages to keep even the middle-of-the-pack foursome of Red Hoslet, John O’Connell, Craig Simonson, and Lane Kimble well-hydrated and swinging free.
