WTBA regrets to inform you of the passing of William (Bill) Kennedy.  Bill died Friday, June 28, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was 74.

Bill owned Rock Road Companies in Janesville with his two brothers and was most recently company chairman.

As a transportation construction industry leader, Bill served on the WTBA Board of Directors and was the Legislative Committee Chairman.

Bill was also WTBA president twice, in 1987-88 and 2001-02.

Bill was heavily involved in his hometown community, helping found the Janesville Jets hockey team.  He also coached youth sports and was chair of the Boys and Girls Club Capital & Endowment Campaign.  Bill loved golf, the outdoors, and Wisconsin sports.

VISITATION AND FUNERAL INFORMATION

A visitation will be held Monday, July 8 at Schneider Funeral Directors in Janesville from 4-7 p.m.  There will also be a second visitation at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church in Janesville on Tuesday, July 9 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  A mass follows at the church at 10:30 a.m. Bill will be interred at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the Kennedy family asks you to make donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville in Bill’s name.

WTBA extends its deepest sympathies to Bill’s wife and children, family, friends, and his vast array of industry colleagues.

He will be sincerely missed.
