Several busy freeway ramps in Milwaukee County will soon close, lasting into the fall.

WisDOT announced Thursday the I-894 westbound-to-I-43 southbound ramp will close Tuesday, Sept. 2 by 9 p.m. The I-43 northbound-to-I-894 eastbound ramp will also close Thursday, Sept. 4 by 9 p.m. Meanwhile, the Highway 100 ramp to I-43 northbound will close.

All closures are expected to last about 45 days, which would be mid-October.

The preferred detour guides traffic on Layton Avenue and 60th Street to get around the closures.

The bridge work is part of the overall I-894 resurfacing project, which several WTBA members have primed and subbed on.
