A pair of project proposals in next Tuesday’s letting will include something new: requirements to report some load tickets electronically.
WisDOT is launching its e-ticketing pilot program Tuesday, March 12. The initial year’s tests will run through the July 9 letting.
The pilot requires contractors and suppliers on certain projects to submit load e-tickets into WisDOT’s online portal through HaulHub. WisDOT says HaulHub can integrate with any existing e-ticketing systems.
“E-Ticketing provides digital means to produce, transmit, and share materials data to track and verify material deliveries,” WisDOT told WTBA via email this week.
“The hope is this will streamline inspections and improve contract administration.”
March’s letting includes the requirements on an asphalt job on Highway 59 near Evansville (Proposal 004) and an asphalt project in Waupaca (Proposal 024).
The Department aims to increase the number of projects using e-ticketing in 2025 and require it on most WisDOT-let projects in 2026.
WisDOT wants all members and suppliers to contact HaulHub to begin the process of connecting to the e-ticket system.
The WTBA Board and staff have regularly talked with WisDOT to share potential hurdles, concerns, and insights – especially those which could impact smaller quarries and suppliers – as plans are developed.
WTBA will continue those discussions as the pilot plays out.
