Free breakfast and the chance to talk about the importance of our industry with people who need to hear it? Not a bad way to spend one morning next month.
A series of public discussions on transportation and the importance of a well-funded system are coming to a community near you.
There will be six “Turnout for Transportation” roundtables held May 14-28. Locations include Appleton, Oak Creek, Janesville, Wausau, Eau Claire and La Crosse.
Each morning’s discussion will run from 7:30-9 a.m. and will include community leaders, industry partners, lawmakers and candidates for office.
The conversations will focus on what types of projects have been effective, the importance of roads and bridges to commuters, business, and everyday people, and how various communities would like to see lawmakers address a more than $1 billion shortfall in transportation funding in the next budget cycle.
