If you want to win work on the massive Blatnik Bridge replacement project, you’ll want to let the Minnesota Department of Transportation know you’re interested.
Thursday, MnDOT put out notice that it is accepting Letters of Interest (LOI) from contractors wanting to provide Design Build services on the $1 billion-plus project.
Work includes replacing the main bridge span, rebuilding 1.5 miles of approach structures, and realigning roadway approaches, especially on the Wisconsin side, where a new interchange will go.
Minnesota announced late last year it would utilize the Design Build process to construct the replacement bridge. While Minnesota is the lead agency on the project, WisDOT Secretary Craig Thompson told WTBA he expects plenty of work for Association members during the seven total years of construction.
MnDOT’s website says early phases could begin in 2025.
Companies that submit an LOI will receive project notices, notifications, and a future Request for Qualifications. Your Letter of Interest must include the name, phone number, and email of the person you’d like to designate as a main point of contact.
