A handful of Wisconsin airports will upgrade and fix runways, taxiways, and terminals thanks to $34 million in federal funding announced this week.
Dane County Regional in Madison is getting the most, at $5.9 million to rehab existing taxiways and aprons. Kenosha Regional, Appleton International, and Sheboygan County are the next three-highest recipients.
Nearly $15 million of the funding will go to the State of Wisconsin for WisDOT to use at non-primary airports.
WTBA member companies routinely win contracts for airport improvements and the association has featured several–Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee in 2023 and Dane County Regional in 2024–in project videos on its YouTube page.
