On the surface, a proposal to offer Wisconsin’s counties and municipalities more money in “shared revenue” – which the state Assembly approved last week – would lead to better roads, community services, and public safety.
However, WTBA has been working to ensure the bill also helps aggregate quarry operators continue to operate successfully and don’t face confusing and overlapping regulations in getting approval and permits for sites.
These proposed changes are the result of WTBA work along with the Wisconsin Towns Association, Counties Association and Aggregate Producers of Wisconsin.
A link to a summary of these provisions put together by WTBA General Counsel Jodi Jensen is included HERE.
