When State Rep. Alex Dallman talks about his childhood career goals, he’s speaking of relatively recent history.
At just 31 years old, Dallman is halfway through his second term in state office.
“I told myself that I’d be in health care every day growing up throughout high school and then going into college first, but then once I got onto campus… I realized that I had a bigger passion for politics and a bigger passion for government.”
That passion has paid off for the Republican from Green Lake. He is the youngest member of the Legislature’s powerful Joint Finance Committee. Despite that big role, Dallman is staying true to his small town roots.
“I believe our local roads are falling behind,” Dallman told us. “Ultimately I’m a representative of my constituents in the 41st district, so I’m going to fight for those rural roads as much as I can, but at the same time I realize – even our business leaders realize – we need to have sustainable roads and infrastructure throughout our state to better help everybody.”
